Hammock Comparison Chart: 30 Camping and Hiking Hammocks Compared by Price, Weight, and Size
There are a lot of hammocks out there. Too many, honestly, if you’re just trying to figure out which one to buy. So we built this chart to make it easier.
Below you’ll find 30 hammocks from 9 reputable brands, compared side by side by price, weight capacity, dimensions, weight, material, and whether straps are included. Every hammock on this list is one we’ve personally tested and/or own and have thoughtfully vetted through years of outdoor adventures.
Use the chart to sort and filter by what matters most to you. Then scroll down for brand-by-brand breakdowns with our honest take on each company.
How to read this chart
A few things worth knowing before you dive in.
Single vs. double doesn’t always mean one person vs. two. Many single hammocks hold 400-500 lbs. “Single” really means narrower fabric. If you’re over 6′ or over 200 lbs, a double will almost always be more comfortable, even solo.
Denier (D) is the fabric weight rating. Higher denier means heavier, more durable fabric. Lower denier means lighter weight but less rugged. If you’re backpacking and counting ounces, look for 20D-40D. If you’re car camping and want durability, 70D is the sweet spot.
“Best For” is our editorial call. We tagged each hammock based on how we’d actually recommend it: backpacking, camping, budget, ultralight, tall campers, beginners, and so on.
Pricing is current at the time of publishing. The chart (and article below) links to both the brands’ websites and Amazon, so check for the best deals and different color options.

Hammock brands, broken down
We’ve been covering hammocks and outdoor brands for over a decade. We personally know the people behind many of these companies, own hammocks from most of them, and have logged more hours in a hammock than we’d like to admit. Here’s what you need to know about each brand on the chart.
ENO (Eagles Nest Outfitters)
This is where most people start, and for good reason. ENO has the widest retail distribution of any hammock brand. You’ll find them at REI, Back Country, and dozens of other retailers. The DoubleNest is the best-selling camping hammock in the category and has been for years. Their newer FreeWave fabric is a real upgrade: softer, more breathable, faster drying than the original nylon. ENO also has the broadest accessory ecosystem (bug nets, rain tarps, underquilts, stands, the Fuse tandem system), so you can build out a full sleep system over time. The TravelNest combo is the best entry point if you’re buying your first hammock, since it includes straps.
Known for: Widespread availability, large color/print selection, strong accessory ecosystem.
Best for: First-time buyers, casual hangers, anyone who wants to buy in person at a retailer.

Kammok
Kammok has quietly become one of the best hammock brands on the market. Their Roo line is made from 100% recycled fabric (bluesign approved), comes with a lifetime warranty, and the GravitasX fabric is noticeably softer than most competitors right out of the package thanks to their crinkle treatment. The 500 lb weight capacity across most models is industry-leading. Eight gear loops on every Roo hammock make it easy to clip in underquilts, top quilts, and gear. If you’re building a hammock camping system, Kammok’s integration across their product line (hammocks, quilts, straps, tarps) is best in class.
Known for: Recycled materials, lifetime warranty, 500 lb capacity, buttery soft fabric.
Best for: Hammock campers building a full system, eco-conscious buyers, anyone who wants the nicest fabric feel.
Grand Trunk
Grand Trunk punches above its weight on value. The TrunkTech line is the standout: 11 feet long with a 500 lb capacity at just 11.7 oz (single) or 15.5 oz (double), for $60-70. That’s a length and capacity you won’t find from ENO or Kammok at this price point. The proprietary 40D ripstop nylon is soft, breathable, and quick-drying. Grand Trunk also makes some of the most fun print designs if aesthetics matter to you. The Skeeter Beeter with integrated bug netting is a solid pick for summer camping.
Known for: Best value at the 11-ft length, fun prints, TrunkTech fabric innovation.
Best for: Value shoppers, taller campers who want length, anyone who wants a fun or funky hammock design that’ll turn heads.

Wise Owl Outfitters
Wise Owl is the budget king. The DoubleOwl—at $37 with straps and carabiners included—is the lowest cost-of-entry for a quality hammock. It’s one of the highest-rated hammocks on Amazon for a reason. The fabric (210T parachute nylon) isn’t as refined as Kammok’s GravitasX or Grand Trunk’s TrunkTech, but at this price, it doesn’t need to be. If you’re buying a first hammock, buying for a group or a gift, or outfitting kids, Wise Owl is the move.
Known for: Budget-friendly pricing, straps included, strong Amazon reviews.
Best for: Beginners, budget buyers, group purchases, kids.
Coalatree
Coalatree is a smaller brand that makes solid, no-frills hammocks at fair prices. The Wanderer Double stands out for its 600 lb weight capacity, the highest in its price range, with triple-stitched seams. It comes with ropes for hanging (not tree straps, but functional). The hammock I own from them is a single, and while I usually prefer a double even solo, I reach for the Coalatree when weight matters since it’s noticeably lighter than most double hammocks.
Known for: High weight capacity for the price, clean design, good quality at a fair price.
Best for: Casual hangers, backyard use, parks.

Hennessy Hammock
Hennessy is the serious hammock camper’s brand. Every model uses an asymmetrical design, which allows you to lie diagonally for a flatter, more comfortable sleeping position, helping to relieve lower back pressure. These hammocks come as complete shelter systems with bug nets and rainflies included. The Expedition started the hammock camping movement and is still a solid pick. The Ultralite Backpacker is a favorite on long trails like the AT and PCT. These are heavier and pricier than a simple gathered-end hammock, but you’re getting a full sleep system, not just a sling.
Known for: Asymmetrical design, complete shelter systems, serious camping and survival pedigree.
Best for: Overnight hammock campers, thru-hikers, anyone replacing a tent.
Lawson Hammock
The Blue Ridge Camping Hammock uses a patented spreader bar and arch pole system to keep the hammock flat, with a built-in bug net and attachable rainfly. It’s one of the heaviest options on the chart (79 oz), but it’s a true tent-hammock hybrid. I own one and can vouch for it. If you want the versatility of a hammock that can also be set up as a ground tent, this is one of the few options that actually delivers on that promise.
Known for: Tent-hammock hybrid, spreader bar system, versatility.
Best for: People who want one shelter that works as both a hammock and a ground tent.

Warbonnet
Warbonnet is the enthusiast’s brand. Based in Colorado since 2008, they specialize in lightweight, modular sleep systems with obsessive attention to detail. The Blackbird XLC is their flagship: 11 feet long, removable bug net, a built-in storage shelf, foot box for leg room, and the asymmetrical design for optimal diagonal sleeping. You can customize fabric weight, netting style, and suspension when ordering. The Ridgerunner is a bridge-style hammock with spreader bars for a flat, down-the-center sleeping position, which some people prefer. These aren’t impulse buys. They’re for people who’ve decided hammock camping is their thing and want the best system they can get.
Known for: Modular, customizable designs, storage shelf, enthusiast-grade quality.
Best for: Dedicated hammock campers, tall users (fits up to 6’6″), people who want to customize everything.
Tentsile
Tentsile is in a category of its own. These are tree tents, not traditional hammocks. They use a 3-point anchor system (three trees instead of two) to create a taut, platform-like suspended shelter. The T-Mini is the simplest option and works as a flat, elevated hammock. The Flite and Stingray are full tree tents with bug mesh, rainflies, and legitimate sleeping space for 2-3 people. They’re heavier and more expensive than anything else on this chart, but the experience is completely different. Crowd pleasers at camp. Read our full Tentsile review.
Known for: 3-point tree tent design, wow factor, group capacity.
Best for: Cool factor, group camping, families.
